Woodland Hills School District Board of Directors approves censure of board member Darnika Reed

NORTH BRADDOCK – Oct. 29, 2024 – The Woodland Hills School District Board of Directors formally approved the censure of board member Darnika Reed during a special legislative meeting on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Resolution No. 591.24 states in part that Ms. Reed, “made a series of social media posts in which she shared internal District e-mail correspondence from various members of the District staff and other Board Members without their prior consent. Ms. Reed utilized her District provided e-mail to access and share the e-mail correspondence.”

The board and their solicitor stated that those actions violated Board Policy 815 establishing guidelines on acceptable use of the District’s networks and technology.

The censure stipulates that Ms. Reed no longer be provided access to the District’s networks or technology, including e-mail. She will continue to have access to PowerSchool and District robocalls. The censure also states that Ms. Reed will be removed from all Board committees and requested her resignation from the board.

“The board made a statement tonight that they will not condone any breach of confidential information by any sole board member,” Superintendent Dr. Daniel Castagna said.
