Woodland Hills partners with Metro Communitiy Health Center to bring healthcare services to families

We are excited to announce an important new partnership between Metro Community Health Center (MCHC) and the Woodland Hills School District to bring healthcare services to our students and their families. MCHC, a non-profit organization serving all ages and backgrounds, regardless of income, insurance status, or the ability to pay, will provide healthcare services directly to our school community. This collaboration will offer medical care, regular check-ups, and much more, emphasizing the link between health and academic success.

Central to this program is MCHC’s mobile clinic, a fully equipped 38-ft RV featuring two private exam rooms, a waiting area, a bathroom, a wheelchair lift, and a lab area. The Mobile Clinic operates like a traditional pediatrician’s office, offering scheduling assistance, prescription services, and post-appointment care. In addition to medical services, Metro will be bringing Community Health Navigators to assist with enrolling in benefits, insurance, accessing social services, and more.

We believe this partnership will reduce our chronic absenteeism rate by increasing in-school time and help support our families overall. This mobile clinic is open to students, families, and the Woodland Hills Staff. Their services will be available to both insured and uninsured families.

While we know that many of our families already have a primary care physician, we still want to offer our mobile clinic service to you for services such immunizations, if your child becomes ill during the school day and needs care, and sports physicals, among many other services. If your child does not have a primary care physician, Metro Community Health Center’s on-site mobile clinic and/or their main office is available to be your provider. If your child needs to be seen by the clinic when they are on campus, and no parent or guardian is available to be at the appointment, there will be an option for a telehealth appointment for the parent or guardian so they can be a part of the appointment. Please Note: No child will be seen by the clinic without first being granted permission to the school nurse by the family.
