Woodland Hills hosts multi-district College and Career Fair

Woodland Hills was proud to host a College and Career Fair on Thursday, Sept. 26 that included nearly 50 local, state, regional, and national universities, along with trade schools, employers, and branches of the armed services.

Not only did Woodland Hills students have the opportunity to talk with admissions representatives and human resources staff members from these organizations, but the school hosted students from Clairton, East Allegheny, Steel Valley, and Sto-Rox for the fair, as well.

The event was made possible thanks in part to DoD STEM, which runs the SMART Scholarship-for-Service Program. The program offers full tuition scholarships and a monthly stipend to college students pursuing eligible STEM degrees at accredited universities. Upon graduation, SMART Scholars are guaranteed employment in their field with the Department of Defense as a civilian employee for four years.

Students were able to chat with a representative from DoD STEM about the program during the college and career fair.

A group of Woodland Hills students also partnered with the Caileigh Lynn McDowell to register eligible students to vote during the fair.

Thanks to all of the universities, trade schools, service members, and employers who visited Woodland Hills to talk to students on Thursday!
